A complete career change took local girl Sarah Mellersh from a successful career in the City of London into the world of gourmet food.
After re-training, Sarah concentrated on her career as a private chef. Her work ranged from parties and weddings to private dinners and shooting and fishing parties all over the U.K.
She found her real passion was teaching all the skills, techniques , hints and tips that she has learned as a chef and passing on her love for and knowledge of food. The opportunity came to set up her own cookery school in an old barn on her parent’s property at Netherfield and the ‘Let’s Cook’ Cookery School was born.
Abernethy’s scenic position and good links to the motorway mean clients come from all over Scotland. Students may be complete beginners or good cooks looking to extend their skills and are all ages but they all have one thing in common; a desire to cook good food. Small classes of 6-8 students allow for individual attention in a sociable atmosphere and courses range in length from one day to several week diploma courses.
