MARCH 2012

Short and to the point article this time folks, just two school related things to get across.

First - The date for the Abernethy Primary School Bingo Tea this year will be Friday 23rd March 18:30 – 20:30. Entry fees will be £2 per adult, £1 per child with a family ticket costing £5 for two adults and up to 3 children, tickets as last time include 5 bingo cards with extra cards available on the night for a small fee. We are also planning a bottle stall (all donations welcome) and of course refreshments. All are welcome so please come along and enjoy the fun, tickets will be available in advance from all members of the Parent Council and the school office. The last tea we had was full so if you don’t buy tickets in advance you may not get in!. If you need any further info the best way to contact me is via email, see address below along with the names of the other members of the Parent Council.

Secondly, the crossing: In my previous articles I have asked for information on near misses on the crossing but disappointingly I have only received a few replies. The school have now completed a survey which has indicated that the crossing is a concern for all within the village and something needs to be done before we actually see a death on it, so here is what WE are going to do. If you see an incident on the crossing please phone the Tayside Police non emergency number 0300 111 2222 and report it, all they need is the number plate of the vehicle concerned and a description of the incident, alternatively you can email me and I will pass it on. The more calls the Police get, the more sway they and we (Abernethy Parent and Community Councils) have with Perth and Kinross Council to get a new crossing at a better location or a replacement to the existing one which will make it safer. It will only take a few minutes of your time but who knows it may just save a life!
