MUSIC AT THE CREE’S

A music session has been recently established in the Crees inn, hosted by Roddy Johnston and Kate Badcock. The session runs on the last Sunday of every month  from 8.30pm. All singers and instrumentalists are welcome to come along, just turn up with your instrument and you will be made to feel welcome. If you don’t play anything but enjoy listening to music then this is an enjoyable night for you too.

Kate and Roddy moved to the village from Leeds, Yorkshire in July 2011. They have since been establishing themselves here in Scotland as professional musicians, and their band is called Dancing Feet Ceilidh Band (www.dancingfeetfolkarts.com). Kate plays flute and saxophone, and Roddy plays fiddle, bagpipes, guitar and sings in the band. A guitarist and bodhran player complete the line-up. Have a listen to the band on their website, or come down on a Sunday night.

The first session was on 30th September, and an impressive 18 musicians turned up. A wonderful evening of songs and tunes was had, and this was followed by another great night on 28th October. The next session is on 25th November – see you there!
